 Refrigerator Bran Muffins (KMOT 1972, halved)

Pour 1c boiling water over 1c All Bran. Cream 1/2c Crisco [butter] with 1 1/2c sugar [100g]. Add 2 eggs, 1 pint buttermilk, 2c All Bran, 2 1/2c flour [350g], 2 1/2T* soda [2 1/2 tsp], and 1/2 tsp salt. Add water/bran mixture. 350°F 20-30 minutes. Keeps in fridge about 3 weeks.

*this has got to be a misprint.

I don't notice any difference between this one where only part of the cereal is soaked and the one we got from Dan's mother where all of the cereal is soaked. I thought there might be nubbly bits, but there weren't.
